I, JOY
I joy in the salvation the Lord has given me;
I joy in the work that He does; that I don't even see!
My strength comes from my joy in Him;
My joy is something I will never let dim.
In the midst of my battle; my fight for the right;
I joy that even then He controls my plight.
If He so longs to carry me with Him, I need not question my way...
For I know His grace is sufficient for that day.
Even as the tears flow down my cheeks, I can still smile and sing;
For I am sheltered, I am kept under His loving wing!
My heart cannot contain the joy, the peace I feel;
I wish that all could know this joy so real.
It's more than laughter, it's more than cheer;
It's a calm delight, a sense of 'God resides here'.
I joy in my Saviour, although you do not understand my actions;
I no longer am of this world, or lured by its attractions.
I'm settled in the joy of the Lord, resting in His arms;
Knowing I am kept; I am held out of reach of harms.
I joy in the muck and mire of this world, as I walk with the Lord.
I joy that there is nothing, Jesus, nothing for You, in my life, too hard!
